About this experience
The hot stone massage in Hurghada is the answer when your shoulders feel like rock and your legs feel like lead. Forty-five focused minutes, smooth basalt stones heated to a precise 50°C used as warming extensions of the therapist's hands, and pressure that goes deeper than fingers alone could safely reach. Free pickup and drop-off from any hotel, resort, apartment or hostel inside Hurghada is included.
Why hot stone in Hurghada works differently than back home
The Red Sea climate dehydrates muscles in a way most travellers don't notice until day three of the holiday: shoulders bunch, calves cramp at night, lower back stays tight even after a beach day. Heat penetrates that kind of tension faster than cold hands can. The stones carry warmth into the muscle for 4-6 minutes per placement, the muscle softens, and the therapist works at a depth that wouldn't be safe to attempt on cold tissue.
How the 45 minutes is structured
Minutes 0-5. Short consultation. We ask about pressure preference, blood pressure, recent cardiovascular events, varicose veins, and any sun-burn from the past 24 hours, hot stones don't go on burned skin.
Minutes 5-25. Stone placement on back, with parallel hands-on work. Stones go along both sides of the spine and on the upper trapezius. The therapist works the surrounding muscle while the stones do the deep heat job.
Minutes 25-35. Calves and lower legs. Stones on the calves while the therapist works the feet and ankles, where most of the post-flight swelling lives.
Minutes 35-45. Optional turn-over for shoulder front + neck (some guests prefer to stay face-down, both work). Closing strokes are slow, hands-only, no stones, so the body adjusts to room temperature gradually.
The stones: real basalt, real 50°C, every time
Our stones are river basalt from the Aswan region in Upper Egypt, naturally dense enough to retain heat for the full session. They sit in a thermostat-controlled water bath at 50°C, never improvised in a microwave. Each stone is checked on the therapist's wrist before it touches you, the temperature you feel is consistent, never surprising.
Who books hot stone in Hurghada
Travellers off long flights with shoulder/neck tension, divers between dive days who need calf and lower back work, anyone who finds standard massage "not deep enough" but doesn't want bruise-level deep tissue. We see four to six guests per day on this option. Most book it as a stand-alone, some pair it with a 30-minute facial or a Turkish hammam afterwards. Booking 24 hours ahead is recommended in high season.
Who shouldn't book this
Pregnancy (any trimester, the stones run too hot), uncontrolled high blood pressure, varicose veins on the legs (we can still do upper body, ask), recent cardiac surgery, or sun-burn from the last 24 hours. Tell us before booking and we recommend an alternative; the 60-minute aromatherapy massage is the closest equivalent without the heat.
What to Expect
Plan around 1 hour 15 minutes door-to-door, including the free pickup and drop-off inside Hurghada. El Gouna, Sahl Hasheesh and Makadi are +€10 per guest. From Sheraton Road, the drive is 8 minutes; from the Marina, 12.
Wear or bring a swimsuit (or use our disposable underwear). Lockers, towels and bottled water are provided. The room is intentionally warm (around 26°C) so the stones don't lose heat too fast. Hydrate well in the hour before, your body will sweat lightly during the session.
Couples can book adjacent tables in the same warm room. After the session, the body stays warm for a couple of hours, dress lightly even if it's a cold evening.

No. The heat does most of the depth work, so the pressure stays comfortable. First-timers usually find it more relaxing than a standard deep-tissue session.
No, the stones run too hot for any trimester. Choose the 60-minute aromatherapy massage instead, similar relaxation, no heat.
We skip the stones on burned areas and switch to neutral-temperature hands-on for those zones. Tell us before we start.
Yes, anywhere inside Hurghada (Sheraton Road, Marina, Mubarak 6, Old Town, El Mamsha) is free both ways. El Gouna, Sahl Hasheesh and Makadi are €10 per guest.
